Chess Tournaments

All tournaments require memberships in MCA and USCF.    Memberships may be purchased during registration.  To register,  see below

Mr. Garrison recommends the following tournaments for all students.

2023 Michigan Class Championships
Lansing, Jan. 21 (and 22 for top sections)

The one day section is open to players with USCF rating below 1000 (or unrated) and will mostly be scholastic players.

2023 Michigan Team Championships!
 

  • K-6 Team, Sat. Feb 4, West Bloomfield
     

  • K-8 & K-12 Team, Sat. Feb. 25, Rochester
     

A team consists of four players, they MUST be from the same school.  Mr. Garrison will not be attending these events, but can assist with organizing.  If you are interested and you think your school has enough players, then please email WITHOUT DELAY raygarrison@arborchess.com

Lansing, March 11 (for K-3 and K-5)

Both Days (for K-12 championship)

NOTE For Saturday players: 
We will have a Team Room!
Please email raygarrison@arborchess.com after you register and then Mr. Garrison will invoice you $20 which will help cover the team room cost and Mr. Garrison's coaching for the day. 


The K-5, K-8, and K-12 winners will also represent Michigan in the U.S. tournament of champions which will be held in conjunction with the U.S. Open, which will be in Grand Rapids this summer!
